It is beginning to feel like summer
Sandals, long walks, t-shirts & shorts, tenting - these are all the things we love about summer - the toenails are just a little added bonus that goes with sandals.
Summer Reading
What is it that I love about the summer sun reflecting off the burnished coif of my second-born?!
The Leaves of Summer
Translucent green of summer leaves.
Mt. Baker from the Olympic Peninsula
I love the water in the summer. This perspective on Mount Baker is very different from when I am up there skiing in January.
Another view from the Olympic Peninsula
Stunning vistas of the Pacific Northwest.
The flats of Boundary Bay
We discovered this bay quite by accident one glorious Sunday afternoon. The tide was out and we could walk in ankle to mid-calf deep water literally for miles. Seaweed and sand-dollars littered the floor of the bay.
The most ubiquitous flower of summer
What would summer be like in the Pacific Northwest without dandelions. Their golden glow lights up many a mean landscape with a burst of glorious color.
Some wild berries
What would summer be like in the Pacific Northwest without berries. I'm not even sure what these are - maybe a wild raspberry, or maybe a blackberry.
Summer Fun
Some members of my family think this is a fun way to occupy a summer afternoon. I prefer to use my camera instead.
A Deer Silhouetted against Mount Baker
What were the odds of getting this deer to pose in front of Mount Baker for me?
Another Deer
...or getting it to pose silhouetted against the sky?
The red barn
Not all my pictures are summer pictures
A Country Road
I was just fascinated with the undulations of this country road. It didn't curve but it sure followed the shape of the terrain otherwise.
