Madrona Trees
Late on a July afternoon we were driving around Orcas and came across this stand of Madronas reflecting the setting sun. This low-res copy just does not do justice to the colors and detail.
Sunset from Mt. Constitution
There is a lookout tower on the top of Mt. Constitution - the highest peak on Orcas. This is a great place to go just before sunset. There is a road all the way to the top with a 5 minute climb to the tower.
The View from Mt. Constitution
The view from Mount Constitution is absolutely amazing. One can look across the Straight of Georgia into Bellingham Bay. Myriads of islands dot the water between. Mt. Baker is visible in the background.
Mountain Lake
Several lakes dot Orcas. This is Mountain Lake with my favorite traveling partner enjoying a snooze in the summer sun.
Lake Reflections
A new walkway was put in at our little lake and the reflection of the wood on the rippling water made a tempting photo op.
Marina
I loved the colors of this marina. Because the photo has so much rich color it is difficult to make a low-res copy that retains the look of the original without it being too large for the web. So this is a little blocky.
