My Trip to Kalimantan
I spent two weeks this August returning to the land of my birth and Bec's & my place of ministry for 16 years. I travelled there with my two daughters. Click here to view the gallery.

Sunset on San Juan Island
the sun was just beginning to go down and casting long shadows when we saw this scene.
Spring Ferns
Late afternoon sunlight catching these unfurling ferns.
Spring blossoms
Spring is here - and I am delighted!
Blossoming Cherry
The delicate petals and colors make early Spring one of my delights
Mid-winter break
Becky and I enjoyed a rainy break at the local hot springs.
The Moss Stays Green
When there was a small break in the rain we took a walk and came across this delightful mountain trickle. The brilliant green of the moss on the rocks almost made the day seem bright.
Skeletal Trees
The grayness of the day and the leaflessness of the trees made for a stark contrast out side our window.
Photoshopped
So what is digital imaging software for if not to liven photos up a bit - to give a little color to a dreary, rainy, gray winter day?
Harrison Lake
Blues and Grays Dominate the Winter Background.
The Red Barn
This is a view I have the privilege of seeing quite frequently on my way home from work
Ice and Gulls on Mill Lake
With the previous cold snap we experienced, Mill Lake was frozen over. The ice is rotting now but still covers a good chunk of the lake. Wild fowl and seagulls are still able to walk on it and if you look closely you can see where people tried to walk on it when it was still frozen over.

My wife and me in a shadow portrait
One of our favorite areas for picturesque scenery is the San Juan Island group off the coast of Washington state. The islands of San Juan, Lopes, Orcas and Shaw are accessible by ferry from Anacortes or from Victoria. Last summer we visited a park on Orcas called Madrona Point Park. It was an idyllic summer afternoon when we snapped this photo.
Sunset caught in the camera lens
I was waiting on the beach for the sun to get lower on the horizon. The camera was on the tripod and I just happened to notice the reflection of the sunset in the lens. I happened to have a second camera along and snapped this photo. It came out better than the photos taken on the tripod.
Mushrooms
These mushrooms came popping up overnight out of the forest floor just outside our tent last summer. They were unique enough that they warranted a close-up. I have no idea what they are called.
Summer Bliss
We love summer when the leaves are vivid green and water reflects the deep blue of the sky.
Rose Leaf and Droplets
I enjoy close-up photography. Nature offers many and varied opportunities to explore this field.
